History of IPE Debate
The IPE Debate was first of its kind competition, launched during the pandemic in 2020. Students from different healthcare professions belonging to different healthcare institutions in Qatar including Qatar University Health Cluster, Weill Cornell Medicine Qatar, College of North Atlantic Qatar, and University of Calgary Nursing Qatar. The students debated on important topics from holistic point of view, bringing different perspectives, views, and opinions to the table, each centred around a different healthcare profession but fused with spirit of collaboration. There were three national debates that were conducted virtually. The debates took an international turn in 2021, where participants from Qatar, UK and USA collaborated and competed in two international debates. These debates prove to be successful in terms of infusing collaborative spirit within the participants, nurturing their critical thinking and research skills. The surge of adrenaline experienced during debates can also act as a valuable learning catalyst!
